What Is It About Our 20's

After reading the article, “What Is It About 20-Somethings?”, about young adults not maturing in their 20’s makes me feel that everything about this article is true. The new generation we have is so much more harder and difficult than back in the early 70’s. We are so fixated on the fact we are suppose to graduate with a college degree, get a good job paying job, move out of our parents house and build our own life by our 20‘s. In reality now thats the one things most people are not capable of doing. Maybe the reason why we feel like we don’t need to move out or do these things is because we are not force into these situations. Well if you look at how our parents were raised they were forced to have jobs, get an education, create a family because back when they were being raised, 20’s was the age they needed to grow up. People say that the 20’s are where you start learning to find yourself and to experiment on things and thats probably the cause of us not growing up as fast as we would have want too.
When I look at todays society, I have many friends who are in their 20’s still struggling trying to find a good job that would relate to their major or that some are even struggling trying to get by school. School would probably be the main cause to why we might not be able to grow up they way our parents want us too. Everyone loves education but not school because professors feel that grades are more important than students actually getting an education. I myself struggle with school, which gives me a lack of kind of growing up. If you compare school today and back in the 70’s, theres a completely different learning system. I feel that society now has giving us some sort of reason on why we haven’t matured yet.
