Living in your 20's in America

The article gave me a great insight to things that should be expected from someone living in their twenties. It showed that times are different and the traditions of the past are very rare now amongst young people. In the 1970s people living in their twenties were already financially stable, settling down and starting a new family. But as times changed so has the traditions. Young men and women living in their twenties don't settle down fast but rather enjoy and live up their young years. They feel the need to take advantage of their youthful strength and enjoy more of life's thrills. I guess the thought of settling down young and having a family is just too old school and conservative. Although some would disagree with that. A common problem I see amongst the youth is that they get caught up with the mindset of just living life rather than preparing for a better future. Dropping out of school, surviving of low wage income, I mean c'mon what sort of life is that! I too am young, 18 to be exact, and I probably might go out and party in my twenties. But I am not stupid, I will not let it consume me and interfere with what's important in my life. Which is success and stability. Of course all work and no pleasure is boring so yes, live a little. At the same time one must be smart and make wise decisions. The traditions of the past are not gone, people just settle down later in life. As long as the classic American traditions carry on one way or another, so too will our country continue to move forward.
