20 something or other

I don't really know what to think about the article. The information presented seems to be rather relative. I had trouble forming an opinion on the matter. I have trouble generalizing 20 year old's in regards to the so called "emerging adulthood". I have seen people get married and have children straight out of high school, and i have seen people get there bachelors degree and move back in with there parents. The notion that today's 20 year olds go through some kind of experimental transition in to adulthood is not new. I think it is somewhat a myth that it was super different for pre millenial 20 somethings. Their has been recessions in the past, as well as economic booms. There has always been cultural shifts. My father and his siblings are baby boomers, and each one of them had totally different experiences in their 20's.    I guess it all just depends on circumstances.

In my own case, I am 24, which means in accordance with the article my brain has for the most part fully developed... Even though I may have hindered the developmental process in the past. I was pretty well grounded by the time I was 19 due to my enlisting in the navy. But I guess you could say I went from one family that took care of me to overreaching and overprotective "helicopter parents"(the military). I still think and reach for future endeavors, as does everyone. I think its natural for 20 somethings to not be sure of what they want to do, or what they must do. Most people have to struggle a little bit to make it in the world, and its during that youthful struggle that builds ones true character.           By the way the term "helicopter parents" is awesome, and I plan on adding that term to my verbal repertoire.
